SHOK-1 // Love or Fuck You?
Shok-1 completed this in Summer 2016. This is part of his X-ray series with spray paint. The artist said it did “in response of hostilities arising from the UK-EU referendum” and called it Master Peace. Now, an important thing to note is that with X-ray, it’s difficult to distinguish if you are looking at the palm or the back of your head. If you feel to be watching at the palm, the 2 fingers will mean “love” in universal gesture. On the other side, if you are looking at the back of the hand, the 2 fingers will mean “fuck-you” in Britain. Now I’m not sure what really is the message here … Love or Fuck You? Left to interpretation …
