DOCUMENTARY // Street Art London - Episode 1
We are in the East London, probably the largest open air museum in the world. On these streets, there is on display an incredible collection of art: street art. And is a collection that changes on a daily basis. In this videos, we will bring you around the streets of London discovering the graffiti and street art scene that the city has to offer. We start in Star Yard, a small car park just off Brick Lane and one of the hotspots with the highest concentration of street art in East London. Street art evolves costantly and murals are replaced even on a daily basis and this place is never the same one day to the other. Some street artists focus on political and social messages. Others more on portaiting people and representing the faces of the local communities. Equally, these artists can provide very powerful social messages. You may also associated street art with spray can, but this is not always the case. Street artists deploy a number of techniques: handfree spraycan, stencils, paste-ups or even solid objects.
