BEN EINE // It's bonus time
It's bonus time! No, I'm not referring to the time of the year, which occurs in these days, when the big banks pay the bonus to their employees, at least those lucky. It's bonus time is the name of this famous mural by Ben Eine. It was painted in 2008 and it is still intact. Combining Eine's fonts from left to right, you can easily read "sell the house, the kids, the wife, it's bonus time". The location can't be better as it marks the border between Shoreditch and the City of London Corporation. Almost as a warning telling what kind of world are entering who is walking into the City. Ben Eine himself worked for several years in the City at the Lloyd's but his soul was on the street, spraying on many walls since he was a teenager, also with some trouble with the police. Ben's became worldwide known in 2010 when David Cameron gave one of his paintings as a gift to President Obama. He is now one of the most famous street artists
