STIK // Old Street: past, present and future
Old Street. 10 years it was a dodgy area. Now it's flooded with money on new office and residential developments. The City is expanding and rents are rising up, breaking up old communities who need to move ruther away and establishing new residents and merchants. Old art studios, exhibition centers and local delibare replaced by fancy restaurants and coffe shops. With this in mind, in October last year, Stik painted this big mural on Old Street that you can see in the centre of the picture. A nice short documentary is available on Youtube. The three stylized men represent the past, the present and the future of Shoreditch, with the future looking up but slightly off-balance
