DR LOVE & GAGOSH // Tbilisi Street Art

It was a nice surprise to discover that Tbilisi has a thriving street art scene. More than graffiti, local street art is quite impressive. It often has interesting social messages as well as sense of humor and a general optimism. I like this one which, although I can be wrong, I think was made by the most prominent Georgian street artist, Dr Love: the Banksy of the Caucasus

Gagosh is another Georgian street artist with strong social sarcasm. Here is a stencil we found near Fabrika in Marianishvili neighbourhood, Tbilisi

Another street art mural in Tbilisi, Georgia. I noticed that street art here has more political and social messages. Political murals seems to lean towards Europe and the link between Georgia and the West (see my next post). Social murals are more on the way we now interact and live our lifes in this new tech/social-media world
