We took inspiration from Top Gear Vientam Special trip when organizing a 12 days trip from Ho Chi Min to Dong Hoi in January 2010. Obviously the adventure was all in motorbike (being Italians, we also used some scooters, unfortunately they didn’t have proper Vespas but close enough) and we followed closely Top Gear's itinerary e.g. when we took the same overnight train from Da Lat to Nha Trang. An incredible trip which especially considering that was the first time for some of us driving a two-wheel vehicle
